My entry to the MAMA Scared Stiff Contest.

The guidelines said to "use your imagination and create a visual depiction of your most frightening apparition." I've never been afraid of snakes, spiders, heights, or monsters. But there's one animal I absolutely can not handle, Ocean Sunfish.

Sure, there are more commonly feared animals and monsters that I could have painted. But since this is about what scares me, I hope I've succeeded in making you feel even a little bit of what I go through when I look at these guys.

I love this painting! Although I love ocean sunfish you managed to depict one in a way that makes it seem really creepy.

Okay, Sunfish didn't creep me out until I realized just how /big/ they are. I sympathize--90% of everything in the ocean scares the living daylights out of me and my reoccurring nightmare is being trapped deep in the ocean, surrounded and touched by sharp, slimy, spiny, scaly things.

Uuuugh creeepy.
