My piece for the Skull Sessions show at Tates. [link]
Painted from life using a Panther Skull and the two ghost mice that haunt it.

* Received an Honorable Mention at the 34th annual Student show at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale.

Pastels in Corel Painter

(Before you correct me a Panther, Cougar, Mountain lion and Puma are all the same animal. I'm usually told that I've drawn one and not the other while in fact they are all the same.)

I bought mine from a friend who does taxidermy. She happened to be getting rid of it at the time.

Very nice! I especially like the one hiding in the eye socket. :)

I think the confusion other people might have with the terminology stems from the fact that a lot of people call "any large black cat" such as a black leopard or black jaguar "panthers" as well, lol. Words are silly. n.n

Genius! Felines have such goofy looking skulls. I love the ghost mice! Very well done :P

Beautiful lighting, and fantastic job with the subtle colors! Those mice are cute, too. XD

The one in the eye socket is just the cherry on top of the sundae. I absolutely love how you made it's expression and curious peeping pose. And an interesting concept too, a haunted skull. Over all, I like it a lot, the lighting and everything look great.

I love the little Japanese-inspired spirit swirls above the mice. Nice touch.
