My Yellow Tang (based) Mersona for :iconmermafied:, the Mermaid art group. :) I took a lot of liberties with the fins and such since she's a Mermaid and not an Anthro. I was going to do my favorite fish, the clownfish. But ever since Finding Nemo came out they've been everywhere. So here's my second favorite. :p

I feel for you. I haven't posted a single pirate drawing because of the pirates movie, and my NBC drawing are scarce.
Don't you hate fads? ><;

Not enough awesomely anthropom— you know, it's not even anthropomorphized, I take that back. It's convincing as an intelligent fish-form, though. I LOVE the larger cranium, reduced eye and altered pectoral fins, as well as the (completely ornamental?) dorsal spines that extend up the head.

Once again your focus on realism is really pleasing to the eye. I like the colours you used (colourS because of the background). One thing that really stands out is the eye. There's something about the eye.... *queue freaky music*

I hear you on Finding Nemo. The number of "I found Nemo!" jokes in the petstore almost made me break something. I was suprised when a kid came in one day, pointed at one of our tangs and said, "Look! It's Dory!"

Okay, wow. This is so unbelievably cool. I'm glad you picked a less popular species, but I love the design you chose -- the ways in which you made it notquitefish. It would be really interesting to see more of these with other saltwater (or freshwater!) fish as well. This is gorgeous, and I love the understated background and how it compliments and highlights the figure.

Beautiful! :heart:
