Howdy!
The move into Jon's and my very first place together is just about done. We still need some random pieces of furniture, like a bed (air mattresses, woo!) and maybe a couch. Other than that, things are slowing down, which is a huge relief. I almost didn't graduate this quarter. So after weeks of solid panic, walking down that stage to receive my bachelors degree felt amazing. Now that it's over I've started taking yoga to deal with the panic attacks. It feels like it's gonna do me some real good.

I'm diving back into my commissions and hope to have things done soonish. No really, I have SPACE and TIME to work on them now. It's bloody incredible! I'm still only able to do sketch commissions right now. You may see a colored piece or four slide through here that were commissioned, but they're older.

All that aside, I hope your all doing well. This hasn't been a good month for some of our hero's in entertainment. We lost Stan Winston, George Carlin, and Michael Turner all at once. They say death comes in threes, I hope this will be it for a while. Please, stay safe.

Howdy!

But I'm getting really sick of all the SPAM in my notes! Seriously... what is this, MySpace? I'm even getting "I love your poems, submit them here..." notes. I DON'T WRITE POETRY!

Grrr... In other news... my job isn't paying well at all and my Galapagos funding auctions aren't really getting any bids. Now I'm desperate enough to just flat out ask, should I just open up sketch commissions? Or would that be rude of me? I'm talking rough pencil sketches... not finished pieces.

Howdy!

The title sums up what I've been screaming in my head for the past couple of days. I'm taking a trip to Isabela Island in December to study Scientific Illustration of the flora and fauna of the Galapagos! It's been a dream of mine to visit there and I was given the opportunity at the last minute. This is going to be an incredible trip and it's only possible because my parents are making it so. They're covering my tuition and air fair.
Even though it's a gift, I'd like to at least cover the rest of my expenses on my own. There are things I need to replace that have broken in storage, like my dive mask and snorkel (Thank goodness my wet suit is still in one piece). I have to buy disposable underwater camera's, get vaccinations, and have money handy for emergencies and to rent equipment. Regrettably, with graduation in two quarters and a list of (VERY PATIENT) people waiting on their work I don't have the time to open up commissions.

Howdy!

My room mate and I found an AWESOME local place to get teeshirts printed. Their prices are reasonable, they print on American apparel (or whatever I bring in) and can do multiple colors! I could get whole paintings put onto shirts if I wanted.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled.

So here's where I need you. I have a list of the basic critters I'm going to be working into this new teeshirt design (Dragon, Unicorn, Mermaid, Werewolf, Jackalope...) but it needs to be a FANTASY CREATURE EXTRAVAGANZA!

Suggest some other fantasy creatures that I can add to the list!

You guys are great! There are so many creatures though... after attempting to thumbnail this, I thought that maybe there would be a good way to divide all of them onto different shirts by theme. The question is... what theme?

The following notice/rant/announcement is not because of the actions of any one person but just something I've been stewing over for a while now.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns relating to a commission/trade with me they should be handled through E-MAIL ONLY from now on.
Please, do not ask for status updates in replies to LiveJournal posts, AIM conversations or comments on pictures on DeviantArt. I can lose information when they are handled in places other than my E-mail (or DA Note), especially places like AIM when I'm not on my own computer. I also feel afraid to post work that I wasn't paid to do or isn't homework because I know there will be "why aren't you working on my commission" comments left for it. It just kills me to post a finished piece only to have my sense of accomplishment wiped away with a reminder that I have more work to do. I'm fully aware that I have a list but if you feel the need to remind me, e-mailing me works just as good if not better. Just please understand that if I can't do the occasional painting from my own imagination, I'll lose who I am. As it is, my portfolio looks like a quilt of other peoples idea's with the occasional square of my own design. You have no idea, how little you've seen of the worlds in my head, because I just haven't been able to get them out for fear of harassment. Even the images from school assignment, while I had more freedom, are not what I really want to be doing because they came with deadlines. Deadlines = stress.

So please, from now on, if you have something to ask, e-mail me. It's better for my nerves. You should know by now that I don't get angry, and I'm not angry right now. I just get angsty and stressed when I get questioned in places that aren't appropriate.

Please don't anyone take this personally if you've done something like this in the past. I'm not mad, I just want professional things handled through e-mail from now on. Thank you!
